The link will facilitate connections between Mary Immaculate College and the city centre. It will also connect to the West side of the city via the St Pauls to Ballykeefe Active Travel Scheme and further on to the Father Russell Road Active Travel Scheme.

The Scheme was approved by Councillors via a Part 8 planning application in February 2023, having gone through a public consultation process. See: Part 8 - South Circular Road to City Centre Active Travel Scheme | Limerick City & County Council's Online Consultation, Survey and Application Form Portal.

The Scheme is now progressing through the final stages of Detailed Design.

It is anticipated a tender process to appoint a contractor will begin in 2025, followed by construction on the project.

As the Scheme progresses, this page will be updated with the latest available information relating to the works.
