The Active Travel team at Limerick City and County Council, with funding from the National Transport Authority, is continuing to expand and upgrade Limerick’s cycling and walking network.
Active Travel Limerick’s aim is to provide the infrastructure required to ensure people can begin using more sustainable modes of transport – such as walking and cycling – as part of their journeys.
The Team
Limerick City and County Council’s Active Travel team comprises of more than 20 staff who are working in newly-renovated offices in Barrow House on Michael Street. These staff include engineers, technicians, planners, administrative staff and communications staff.

The Active Travel team publishes a fortnightly newsletter outlining all of the latest news and developments occurring in the team and throughout our projects. The newsletter contains regular updates on the status of projects currently under construction, as well as other news such as project launches, planning updates and other activities.
