The Plassey Park Road Improvement Scheme is a project being delivered by Limerick City & County Council. It is being funded by the National Transport Authority.
The project will encompass Plassey Road and Plassey Park Road in Castletroy, within the National Technology Park and adjacent to the University of Limerick.
It is intended to provide the signalisation of the Plassey Road/Plassey Park Road and Plassey Park Road/University Road junctions.
The works will also include dedicated cycle and pedestrian facilities that will be approximately 750 metres in length.
Bus lanes along both Plassey Road and Plassey Park Road will be added, along with bus priority measures at both junctions.
The Scheme was approved by Councillors via a Part 8 planning application in November 2020, having gone through a public consultation process. For more information, please see: Part VIII - Plassey Park Road Junction Improvement Works | Limerick City & County Council's Online Consultation, Survey and Application Form Portal.
The Scheme is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in Q4 2024.
