The Blackabbey Road, Adare project is being delivered by Limerick City & County Council. The project is being funded by the National Transport Authority.
The scheme consists of approx. 1km of shared cycle / pedestrian path along the L1422 to link Adare village (via existing lanes which will be subject to separate upgrades) to the existing local estates, sports facilities etc.
The scheme will increase opportunities for modal shift, providing a safe, coherent, direct and attractive network for cyclist commuters.
It is intended to provide greater accessibility to key local attractors and promote cycling culture by facilitating and increasing commuting, recreational and leisure cycle trips within the Adare area.
The scheme is advanced in Preliminary Design and environmental assessments are currently being completed. As the Scheme progresses, this page will be updated with the latest available information relating to the works.
