The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Francis Foley, has said that the announcement by US company FileCloud, that it is establishing its headquarters for Europe, the Middle East and Asia and Research & Development Centre in Limerick, is further proof of the city’s attractiveness for cutting-edge technology.

FileCloud, a leading software and SaaS provider of ready-to-deploy, hyper-secure enterprise file sharing and content collaboration platform (CCP), is set to create 50 positions over the next two and a half years following today’s announcement.

Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Francis Foley said: “We know how attractive Ireland is generally as a location for foreign direct investment but Limerick is right up there as one of the leading destinations now, which has been illustrated across the first half of the year with a number of exciting investments. This one by FileCloud is another very positive commitment.

“FileCloud operate in a high-tech area and the fact that it is coming to Limerick speaks volumes about the talent pool here and the all-round competitiveness of the city and region. Its CEO, Ray Downes, talked about the excellent ecosystem here for companies that want to fast-track growth plans and much of that is down to the pro-business and collaborative approach that has emerged here over the last decade.”

He added: “We have a really successful formula here and it’s delivering fantastic results for Limerick and the region. Part of that formula is that we work closely with companies investing in the region and our focus now, therefore, is on making sure Limerick delivers for FileCloud so that this investment is a really successful one.”
