As part of the GoGreenRoutes project, Limerick City and County Council facilitated a Nature Workshop on 9th July 2022.
Official opening of the natural play area and bug homes workshop to enhance biodiversity. The group gathered natural materials along the greenway to make shelters for wildlife.
A total of 44 people registered for the workshop with approx. 35 people attending.
- Small homes for smaller animals that live in and around the greenway. Considering the space and places animals and insects like to live and shelter.
- Group discusses the elements of shelters; the materials, weight, weathering, durability, safety and buildability.
- The outcome of the workshop were bug homes for young people and adults to take home (and some slightly bigger ones to leave along the greenway!).
