The recently formed Limerick City Centre Traders association are saying “Thank You” to people of Limerick for their support over the last 18 months with a series of special events on Saturdays throughout August. This Saturday there will be music and dance in the City Centre for everyone to enjoy.
The Down Town Dixieland Band will play a weekly slot on the junction of Sarsfield Street and O'Connell Street from 11.30am to 1pm. There will be a free open air Zumba class this Saturday for all to get moving in Arthurs Quay park from 12 noon to 1pm with renowned instructor Darren Nash. All around the street corners you can listen to the sounds of various buskers including Thick as Thieves and The Three Chords, as they bring all types of music to the streets of Limerick for the people of Limerick. St. Mary's Fife and Drum Band will perform on Thomas Street from 12 noon - 1pm.
There will be additional colour on the streets this Saturday as Limerick builds up to the All Ireland Hurling final. All the performers will be going green in support of the team and the Limerick City Centre Traders Association are encouraging everyone to wear green to town that day also.
