Barnardos mission is to help transform children’s lives through our services; support parents; and challenge society where it fails our children.
The service offers direct support, information and advice to children and young people (0-18yrs) and their parents/carers across Limerick City and its environs.
Their goal is to support children’s learning, development, and emotional well-being in a trauma informed way by working in partnership with their families and the wider community.
They respond to individual children and family circumstances by assessing children’s needs and tailoring a package of support that takes into account family views and recognises family strengths.
They do this by providing the following services: parenting programmes, practical support to help parents and carers develop better home management routines, family or parent/child work to strengthen communication and repair relationships and individual work with children and young people to help them express their feelings and learn positive coping skills and to support their emotional regulation.
Referral
- Phone/Drop into the projects for advice and support.
- Fill out the Barnardos referral form, this can be requested from the Barnardos Projects.
- Limerick North and Limerick South are currently only taking Tusla Referral’s and Self-Referrals from families.
