St Paul’s to Ballykeefe Active Travel Scheme

The St Paul’s to Ballykeefe Active Travel Scheme is a project being delivered by Limerick City & County Council. It is being funded by the National Transport Authority.

St Paul's to Ballykeefe

There are three main elements to the proposed Scheme:

  • St Paul’s Roundabout
  • Link options
  • Ballykeefe Roundabout

This link will then facilitate onward connections to the South Circular Road Active Travel Scheme and into the city centre. It will also connect to the network via the Father Russell Road Active Travel Scheme when complete.

It will also connect Limerick’s cycle and pedestrian network with Raheen and Mungret.

The Scheme went through a period of non-statutory public consultation in June and July of 2023. A full report on this consultation can be viewed at this link.

A Part 8 planning application was lodged in September 2023.

The Scheme was approved by Councillors via a Part 8 planning application in February 2024, having gone through a public consultation process.

It is anticipated a tender process to appoint a contractor will begin in 2025, followed by construction on the project.

As the Scheme progresses, this page will be updated with the latest available information relating to the works.
