Ros Mor/Kilmallock Road Active Travel Scheme

The Ros Mor/Kilmallock Road Active Travel Scheme is a project being delivered by Limerick City & County Council. It is being funded by the National Transport Authority.

  • Rosmor Kilmallock Road Active Travel Scheme

The project is anticipated to be delivered in two parts; Ros Mor and the Kilmallock Road.

Ros Mor:

A new three-arm roundabout to the entrance of the housing estate is to be constructed.

The 400 metre Scheme will extend to the Willows housing estate and will comprise of an off-road shared/cycle pedestrian facility.

A new bus stop and shelter at the north side of the R512, to the west of the new roundabout, is also to be constructed.

The Ros Mor part of the Scheme was approved by Councillors via a Part 8 planning application in October 2022, having gone through a public consultation process. The Scheme began construction in November 2023 and is anticipated to be finished in 2024.

Kilmallock Road:

It is proposed that the project is facilitated with an extended link to the Kilmallock Roundabout.

The Active Travel team is proposing installed a new shared path and a new shared surface on the R512, along with new footpath and drop-kerbs, table top ramps, pedestrian crossings and junction improvements.
