Team Limerick Clean-Up today announces the launch of its limited podcast series ‘Team Limerick Clean-Up Talks To..’. Guests include TLC co-founder and rugby legend Paul O’Connell, TV and Radio Broadcaster, Louise Cantillon and Limerick Senior All-Star Hurler Cian Lynch. The first episode is available to stream today, Wednesday 8th March.

The mini podcast series has been created in conjunction with TLC’s media partner Limerick’s Live95 and is hosted by Live95’s Nigel Dugdale. Each episode touches on the three pillars of TLC – community, environment and pride, as well as a look back at the huge success of the initiative throughout its seven years. Volunteers from all walks of life ranging from schools, sports clubs and well-known faces locally will also feature in the episodes.

Episode one features Cian Lynch who discusses his love of hurling, growing up in Limerick and the ‘special’ event that is Team Limerick Clean-Up.

The Podcast is available to stream on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and on the Live95 website.

Commenting on the launch of the podcast, TLC Chair, Paul Foley said: We’re excited to try something new and move in this direction. A podcast is a great way to showcase what TLC really means to people and to get a deeper insight than we ever have before. The guests are TLC veterans and have played pivotal roles in the growth of this initiative, so hearing what they have to say makes for some interesting listening.”

Commenting on the production of the podcast, Nigel Dugdale said: The Team Limerick Clean-Up Talks To... podcast has been a great project to work on. I certainly discovered a lot about each interviewee, and now you will too. It was nice not just to talk about the effect of TLC on the day of the clean-up, but also how TLC has played a part in the personal day-to-day lives of each interviewee. You can really tell that the TLC message of community support, caring for the environment and showcasing pride in place translates all year round. I can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

TLC8 is set to take place on Good Friday, 7th April across Limerick city and county. The registration deadline for Ireland’s largest one-day clean-up is 17th March. Sign up now here.
