A large number of Business owners and HR professionals attended the annual Employment Law Event hosted by Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group.
The event, which was held today at Limerick Strand Hotel, had a particular emphasis on upcoming changes in Employment Law especially in relation to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), and compliance around these new EU data protection regulations that come into effect in May.
It was attended by business owners and managing directors, to HR professionals and hiring managers. The key note speakers were Labour Law expert Alastair Purdy, and Einde O’Donnell from Alastair Purdy & Company Solicitors.
Speaking at the event, David Fitzgibbon, Collins McNicholas Mid-West Regional Manager, said that the employment market in Limerick and the Mid-West was constantly changing and the company was ensuring it kept up with the changing environment.
“The Mid-West region is now seen as a key region in which to source a good job with solid career prospects. We have many key international clients and indigenous Irish companies in the region who are continually expanding.
The strong economic growth in the Mid-West is the reason why we opened our Limerick office in February last year.
The Mid-West also offers a great work-life balance, attracting many candidates from urban city centres — both in Ireland and abroad — due to cost of living, access to work, schools, the housing market and a good steady jobs market.”
He added that Collins McNicholas was making significant investment in order to source top quality talent to Ireland and the Mid-West. This includes investment in international recruitment events to attract top talent from across Europe and investment in new video technology to promote client vacancies.
“We have successfully sourced many skilled talent to come and work and live in Limerick and the Mid-West. For 2018 we are continuing to explore new markets for talent and have a specific team in place to research global talent markets for key skills.”
