Limerick is located just 25 kilometres from Shannon International Airport, which has full US customs pre clearance. Shannon Airport offers daily services to the US, UK and mainland Europe.

In addition to its 33 direct services, Shannon has three daily flights to London Heathrow, giving the region one-stop connectivity to an additional 170 plus destinations worldwide.
In essence, Limerick to London, via Shannon, is a two and a half hour journey. Shannon also has year-round services to three US hubs – Boston, Newark and JFK – with services also to Philadelphia and Chicago during the summer season (April to October), giving Limerick one-stop connectivity to the vast majority of key global markets.

Limerick’s excellent road and rail network reflects the region’s accessibility. Six national roads converge on Limerick city and its environs. Following the opening of the Limerick Tunnel, the road network around Limerick is now connected in a southern bypass of the city.


Dublin is just a two hour drive by motorway and Limerick is less than two hours from Ireland’s other main urban centres. Cork and Galway are just a 90 minute drive from Limerick. The journey to Galway is soon to be shortened with the completion of a new motorway in 2017.
Limerick is equally well served by public transportation connections. There are hourly direct bus and train services to Dublin, Cork, Galway and all of Ireland’s main urban centres.
