Limerick City and County Council is pleased to announce the commencement of a comprehensive Transport Plan for Adare.
The strategic aim of this plan is to guide the planning and delivery of transport infrastructure and place-making within the village, ensuring a vibrant, accessible, and sustainable future for all residents and visitors.
Key Objectives of the Transport Plan:
- Assessment of Current Conditions: We will evaluate the existing traffic and movement conditions in Adare and its surrounding areas. This includes a detailed parking demand strategy, conditions, and controls.
- Identification of Key Transport Interventions: We aim to pinpoint crucial transport interventions that will enhance connectivity and ease of movement within the village.
- Sustainable and Active Travel Infrastructure: The plan will outline measures to promote sustainable and active travel, making walking and cycling safer and more convenient.
- Public Realm Improvements: Enhancements to public spaces in the village will be a key focus, creating a more attractive and user-friendly environment.
This Transport Plan is a critical component of the Adare Local Area Plan 2024-2030, specifically addressing Objective SM 1 (Movement and Accessibility).
