Roundabouts have the potential to be so much more then traffic control features.
They can be an attractive greenspace which enhance the appearance of our city landscape, provide havens for biodiversity and pollinators as well as a marketing of businesses opportunity.

This is an opportunity to enhance the local environment while benefiting from the advertising and promoting the association with the landscaping and maintenance of roundabouts.
The scheme gives an excellent opportunity to promote business and organisations, make them visible to wide public through the association with the landscaping and maintenance of roundabouts.
The sponsorship period is for a duration of 3 years commencing on completion of the planting.
Limerick City and County Council is now seeking expressions of interest from businesses and organisations who wish to sponsor biodiversity friendly roundabouts.
Please email roundabouts@limerick.ie to submit an expression of interest indicating which roundabout you are interested in sponsoring.
The following roundabouts are currently available under the Roundabout Sponsorship Scheme:
- Clarina
- Clondrinagh
- Coonagh
- Dock Road/Green Park
- Moylish

The planting of the Loughmore roundabout was completed in November 2020 with funding from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the National Biodiversity Action Plan. This design included a native woodland wildflower meadow combined with the existing trees on the roundabout.
