GreenPlace

GreenPlace. Let's do it together! enables cities to collaborate and develop coherent solutions to common urban challenges through networking, mutual learning through experience, drawing conclusions and identifying good practices to improve urban policy. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the ERDF under the URBACT IV Program.

  • GreenPlace

Ten partners from Europe, using social participation tools, intend to develop activities to renovate and make unused urban areas available to residents.

Taking into account the regional specificity and conditions of individual countries, the partnership's priority is to introduce greenery as a key factor limiting climate change in urban areas.

Each partner indicated an area (case study) for their city that will be covered by the project activities. In Limerick, it is the area around the old medieval City wall.

Project goal:

Restoring forgotten urban spaces and making them friendly to residents and the environment, by optimizing the use of existing resources, in the context of the ecological crisis and the difficult financial and geopolitical situation.

Assumed results:

Creating a cooperation network between partners from different regions of the European Union to exchange knowledge and experiences on common social, political and environmental challenges.

Development of an Integrated Action Plan by each of the project partners together with the URBACT Local Group. The implementation of the assumptions contained therein should contribute to the sustainable development of the cities involved in the project.
