The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick is describing May as “a bumper month for job creation in Limerick” with a number of significant announcements.
Electrical engineering firm H&MV are the latest company to announce a major jobs boost. They have opened their new global headquarters in Castletroy with space for 350 workers. They will also create 700 new jobs across their global operations over the next five years.
Last week Analog Devices announced the creation of an additional 600 positions in Limerick with a €630 million investment at their site in Raheen.
Earlier in May, Decathlon opened their new store at the Parkway Retail Park with 64 new jobs created locally.
On Thursday, Apex Group Ltd, a global financial services provider, opened a new office in Limerick creating new job opportunities.
The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Francis Foley said:
“This announcement by H&MV tops off a bumper month for job creation in Limerick. We have so many prominent companies not just coming into Limerick but locally based companies that are expanding. It is a good sign for our economy that the jobs that have been recently announced are drawing their workers from a number of different talent pools. It’s a vote of confidence in the whole region.”
Chief Executive of Limerick City and County Council, Dr Pat Daly said:
“H&MV are just the latest on a growing list of companies that have recognised the advantages of basing their operations in Limerick. We have the talent and Limerick offers a great work life balance. Limerick City and County Council work with businesses to help maximize their opportunities for success. This is done in collaboration with other state agencies and our top class third level institutions. This approach is returning great dividends for Limerick.”
